Citrus Juice Yield Estimator

Estimate how much juice you'll get from citrus fruit—or how much fruit you need for a juice target.

Citrus fruits yield different amounts of juice depending on type, size, and whether you’re pressing or hand-squeezing. This calculator helps you estimate how much juice you’ll get from a given amount of fruit—or how much fruit you’ll need to hit a specific juice target. Ideal for precise batching, it also includes a 10% buffer option to account for loss during straining or pouring.

  • When prepping citrus juice for a cocktail menu or event batch.

  • When scaling recipes and need to know how much fruit to buy.

  • When hand-squeezing vs. using a press and want to account for different yields.

  • When you want to include a buffer for juice lost during batching, straining, or pouring.

When To Use It

Select a citrus type from the dropdown (e.g. lime, lemon, grapefruit).

  1. Choose a mode:

    • “How much juice will I get?” – Estimate yield from fruit.

    • “How much fruit do I need?” – Calculate how much fruit to buy for a juice target.

  2. Enter your amount: either fruit quantity or juice needed.

  3. Select units: count, grams, or ounces for fruit; mL or oz for juice.

  4. Check optional boxes:

    • Using a press – Adds yield boost (~15%).

    • Add 10% batching buffer – Accounts for operational juice loss.

  5. Click "Estimate" to view results and a yield range.
